Information: New ‘Hever Castle’ Daffodil unveiled at Hever Castle The historic gardens of Hever Castle, childhood home of Anne Boleyn, are set to trumpet the arrival of a brand-new signature variety this spring named after the famous castle. On Monday, 16 March, the castle will officially launch the ‘Hever Castle’ daffodil, a bespoke variety grown exclusively for the estate by the renowned Taylors Bulbs of Lincolnshire. The new ‘Hever Castle’ daffodil is distinguished by its wonderful golden trumpet, echoing the bright yellows favoured by William Waldorf Astor, who famously carpeted the estate in Kent with daffodils more than a century ago when he spent close to a billion pounds in today’s money creating the spectacular gardens. One of Astor’s personal favourites was the iconic ‘King Alfred’, and the new ‘Hever Castle’ daffodil, unveiled at the Estate on 16 March, pays fitting tribute to that history with it’s similarly large-shaped trumpet and golden colour.

Designed for real-world growing, media and influencers are actively invited to put the products to the test throughout 2026, with hands-on trials forming a key part of Durstons’ launch programme.

Lee Heitzman, UK and Ireland market manager for Trex, will give a short presentation exploring the surge in demand for composite decking in recent years and the benefits it offers over traditional timber structures. He’ll also reveal why many homeowners who installed low-quality composite decks during the pandemic lockdown have since had to replace them, outlining the differences between cheap decking boards and premium products that will deliver decades of use and enjoyment.
